Who is an Active User?

updated 1 year ago

Pricing on Engage is based on the number of active users (Customers or Accounts) in your Engage account during the billing period. We call this MAU – Monthly Active Users.

An active user is a Customer or Account with at least one data or message event during the billing period. This means they have sent or received a message from you or an event has been received on their behalf during the billing period.

Here are actions that make a user active:

  • The user receives a message through Transactional messaging, Campaign, Banner, or Automation. (Only Banners shown to users identified by the Javascript SDK count towards your MAU).

  • The user triggers an Automation, changes stage in an Automation, or exits an Automation.

  • The user is added to or removed from a List or Segment.

  • You send an event on behalf of the user sent to Engage. This includes events sent through our API, SDKs, and Integrations.

  • Any of your integrations send data on behalf of the user to Engage.

  • The user sent or received a live chat message.

  • The user sent or received an inbox message.
